Question - Alumni Directory
A member of the college's Information Technology (IT)
staff is assigned the project of creating a computerized alumni
directory that can be used by the college's fundraising staff
in an upcoming capital campaign. The IT staff member responds
by creating a user-friendly, efficient program that sorts
alumni information in a number of ways (i.e. by date of graduation,
profession, salary, geographic location, etc.). The fundraising
staff has a very successful campaign and is convinced that
the new computerized directory is to be credited. May the
IT staff member market the program to other institutions?
After all, he created it.
