Question - Arsenic Removal
As part of a research project commenced last year, students
in the engineering program developed a device and method for
removing arsenic from drinking water. The program director
has now been approached by a company in the water treatment
industry that wants to negotiate an exclusive licensing agreement
to manufacture the device and use the method. It has offered
to pay a sizeable sum for the exclusive arrangement in exchange
for a three-year contract with an option to renew. May the
program director try to craft an agreement with the company
on behalf of the college?
